With the holidays just around the corner, you probably have a few last-minute gifts you need to sort out. And often, the toughest people to buy for are men. Fragrances are the kind of thing that your average guy might not buy for himself, which makes them the perfect gift. But since they are so personal, it can be hard to get just the right one, and there are so many to choose from. We picked five crowd-pleasers that will make any guy in your life happy.
1. HERMÈS TERRE D’HERMÈS LIMITED EDITION PURE PERFUME
Get it at Hudson’s Bay for $135
This is probably one of the most luxe fragrances you can buy without dropping an outrageous amount of money. With woodsy notes, followed by pepper and patchouli, this one is great if the guy you’re buying for loves camping, but also enjoys the fancier things in life.
2. BYREDO SUNDAY COLOGNE EAU DE COLOGNE – VETIVER & BERGAMOT
Get it at Mr Porter for $282
For the coolest guy you know who has everything, get him this niche fragrance. With any luck, he might not have yet encountered it. With vetiver and bergamot as the anchor notes, he’ll get a classic scent, with a twist.
3. DIOR SAUVAGE
Get it at Sephora for $92
This one is an award-winning fragrance that is set to be a classic. With fresh citrus notes and pepper, it’s masculine and subtle. It’s perfect for the reluctant fragrance-wearer, ie. your dad or little brother. It’s wearable and they’ll get tons of compliments.
4. PRADA L’HOMME PRADA EAU DE TOILETTE
Get it at Nordstrom for $108
For the fancy guy in your life, get him a fragrance with a name he’ll recognize. This is the newest men’s scent from Prada, and it’s got a bit of a floral hit to it, but still smells manly thanks to the amber, neroli and patchouli. FYI: there is a women’s scent that goes with it…
5. TOM FORD NOIR EAU DE PARFUM
Get it at Saks for $158
Need something for a film buff on your list but don’t want to give them yet another DVD? Take them to see Tom Ford’s latest movie, Nocturnal Animals, and then give them this fragrance, created by the director himself. It’s stylish and urban, and probably the most unusual one on this list, but it’s a risk worth taking.
