Fall is finally here! That means that we can start looking forward to cozy fall wear and accessories in Toronto. If you’re looking to add new scarves to your collection, be sure to add a silk scarf on your list this season.
Smaller silk scarves are definitely in right now – think square bandana-style scarves. Silk scarves are better than their winter counterparts, in my opinion; they can be worn indoors comfortably and add an extra bit of glam to your look (and who doesn’t want to look glamorous). Plus, they’re actually quite versatile and work with a variety of styles and outfits. Still not sure about the silk scarf trend? Here are 4 ways you can wear it to help inspire your accessories:
With a Suit
If you’re finding it hard to accessories a suit or your office wear, adding a silk scarf is a quick way to jazz up your look without looking unprofessional. Tie it like a necktie under a blazer or buttoned down shirt to add a pop or colour to your office wear (and to keep you warm on chilly fall mornings).
Tied Like a Choker
Silk scarves don’t have to be saved for formal or office wear. Shorter silk scarves can be wrapped around your neck like a choker to add some extra colour to your outfit and to give your entire look a 1970’s vibe. For a more bohemian look, you can also layer necklaces underneath your scarf.
On Your Wrist
Skip the jewelry entirely and wear your silk scarf around your wrist like a bracelet. Tied down on your wrist will give it a more casual look and will also add texture to your outfit.
In Your Hair
Silk scarves can be a life-saver on bad hair days. Tie one like a headband to add extra style an up-do. Or tie it around a bun or ponytail to give it extra hold and style. If your hair is particularly uncontrollable, you can tie a silk scarf as a hair wrap to keep you looking fresh and chic.
