Great Racerback Tanks For This Summer

Tanks seem like an obvious summer top choice, but they’re definitely one that shouldn’t be overlooked. The main appeal of a tank top with full straps is that you still get that shoulder-baring look of a spaghetti strap tank or a strapless top, but with enough coverage to wear a bra with straps. While the boyfriend beater is a classic look, to upgrade and modernize your look for this season, there is no better tank style than the racerback. It shows a little more skin in the clavicle area, and just looks a whole lot more fresh than a classic cut.

Basic black is a great summer stapleĀ but try andĀ go with a super bright print if you want to liven up a pair of cut-offs or dark jeans. White looks great with boyfriend jeans or a mini skirt for a bit of an edge. A racerback tank that cuts in right above your chest and close to your neck is a great way to balance the softness of a full midi-skirt. If you find one in a more structured material, it can even work well for a formal event. If you’re feeling a little more daring, go with one that’s cropped and wear it with a high-waisted skirt or jeans for a ’90s-inspired look.

As with any summer clothing that exposes skin that isn’t used to seeing the sun, be sure to apply (and reapply) lots of sunscreen! Here are a few great picks to liven up your summer wardrobe and keep on trend for the last few weeks of the season.
