Every September, the Toronto International Film Festival attracts Hollywood’s most talented and seasoned actors and actresses to showcase their work and promote the films they are most proud of. The timing could not be better since it is also just in time for awards season. The festival is a tremendously exciting event not only since it draws so many A-list stars to the city, but also because it’s been known to create buzz around the films that will go on to win multiple Oscars in the winter. So, naturally, the stars that come to generate publicity and excitement about their films will arrive with only their best looks ready for the red carpet.
Check out our list below to see the most stunning looks that Hollywood’s A-list — including Rachel McAdams, Ellen Page, Kate Winslet — have brought to our very own city.
Canada’s very own, Ellen Page, stuns on the red carpet in a sleek blazer, tie and leather pants at the premiere of her film Freehold.
Also opting for black is Elizabeth Olsen, in a Juan Carlos Obando gown with dramatic ruffled sleeves. Olsen is at the festival to promote the country biopic I Saw the Light.
At the photo call for her film Our Brand is in Crisis, audience favourite Sandra Bullock brings a pop of colour to the carpet in this hot-pink Max Mara jumpsuit.
Another Canadian on the carpet! Rachel McAdams sports multiple trends — florals! embellishments! ultra sheer! — in this stunning, intricate Valentino number. McAdams is pictured here at the premiere of her much-anticipated film Spotlight.
Another star hitting trends spot-on is Dakota Johnson, who’s wearing a floral, cut-out Alexander McQueen at the premiere of Black Mass.
A-list actress Kate Winslet’s fashion never disappoints on the red carpet. Photographed here at the premiere of The Dressmaker, she’s chosen a beautifully sequinned and body-hugging Badgley Mischka gown.
Brie Larson wore a gorgeous ruffled blouse and skirt combination to the press conference for her film Room, for which she’s generating ample awards-season buzz.
